Small Companies That Provide Business Support Services to Other Small Businesses

One group of business that I believe are overlooked are small companies that support other small businesses.

For example, many very small businesses can't afford to lease or purchase credit card processing services or POS systems from larger vendors. Instead, they have to turn to small businesses that provide more scaled down and affordable versions.

This is why economic conditions, public policies, etc. that hurt or help one or two types of businesses can cause a positive or negative cycle that affect other small businesses.

In other words, the local business community in any one area is like an eco-system, such as a pond or ocean, where there is a balance and interdependency among businesses.
